In February of 1955, the regular JATP touring company appeared in Berlin, Germany, but this particular concert seems to have fallen off the radar. Though it has superb sound, over an hour of wonderful music, and is, in fact, introduced by Norman Granz himself, this session was never issued by Granz to the best of our knowledge, and only saw the light of day on an English release that came out briefly some years back. What a show and what a lineup: Gillespie and Eldridge on trumpet, Bill Harris on trombone, Flip Phillips on tenor sax, Buddy DeFranco on clarinet, the Oscar Peterson Trio, Louis Bellson and Ella Fitzgerald. This is the complete concert, and what a swinging show it was!
