Here are five legendary programs, long unavailable, now on DVD for the first time. The first three feature Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Lionel Hampton, filmed in Los Angeles circa 1965 for local television. The other two programs are the famed "Playboy After Dark" television shows, in color from about 1967 or 1968, featuring Mel Torme', B.B. King, Sue Rainey, Joe Williams, and Buddy Rich.
Picture quality on the "After Dark" programs gets jumpy at times, but the music makes it worthwhile.
