One of the rarest and most astounding videos we've ever seen. Hosted by Pearl Bailey, apparently produced in 1975 and released briefly to home video in 1992, it appears as if this was a television pilot that may have never aired. There are five, half-hour programs on this DVD, totalling 147 minutes, that have Pearlie Mae intro-ing clips that may have come from her brief 1971 television series, from Canadian television and other sources. There's a good deal of vintage pop stuff here, but there are also unbelievable performances by Louie Bellson, Lionel Hampton, Count Basie (who even forces singer Shirley Bassey to swing), Buddy Greco, Sarah Vaughan in a duo setting with Al Hirt, Ella with Duke, Mel Torme' being backed up by Stan Kenton's solo piano, Vic Damone, Buddy Greco and other showbiz giants. Wow!
